Claridge House is affiliated with the Quaker community, having originally been purchased and nurtured by Quakers as a house of healing. The house welcomes people of all faiths and none. We stay connected to our Quaker roots and the principles of Quakerism through the testimonies of peace, equality, truth and simplicity.

Meeting for Worship

Claridge House is a Local Meeting house as part of West Weald Area Meeting. Our doors open every Sunday (9.45am – 10.45am) for Meeting for Worship and all Claridge House guests are warmly welcomed to attend.

Quaker Meeting House

For the past seventy years our Quiet Room at the front of the house has been an area for reflection, for being in silence, and for healing. There is an array of books for you to peruse and dive deeper into spiritual matters ranging from traditional Christianity, Quakerism, Buddhism, Islam, healing modalities and energy Philosophies.

Within this room we hold two daily Quiet Times to which anyone is welcome to sit in silence and send healing to where it is needed. A candle is lit at the beginning of Quiet Time by the facilitator, and this is a physical representation of the healing light which is embodied by the house.

You are also invited to include in our healing book the names of those you feel are in need at this time, and these names are sent out with the light in a healing session run by Quaker Healers on a monthly basis.
