Terms and Conditions
1. Travel and Transport.
a. Parking for guests’ cars is provided at Claridge House at guests own risk.
2. Catering
a. Continental vegetarian breakfast provided buffet style in the Dining Room.
b. We can accommodate the following dietary needs – Vegan, Wheat-free, Dairy-free, Gluten-free and Sugar-free, providing we are notified at time of booking.
c. Packed lunches are available by prior request at additional cost.
3. Disabilities
a. Wherever practically feasible the Management will provide for the needs of those with disabilities.
b. We have bedrooms with wheelchair access (subject to availability).
c. Other ground floor bedrooms are offered for those who cannot manage stairs (subject to availability).
d. No specialised care can be provided for guests therefore a carer should accompany those who need individual assistance.
4. Pets
a. It is regretted that dogs and other pets are not allowed in the House or garden, apart from assistance dogs and then only in the Courtyard rooms.
5. Cancellation by a Guest
a. Please inform us by telephone, e-mail or letter if you wish to cancel a booking.
b. In the unlikely event of your booking being cancelled or curtailed, we are entitled by law to charge for booked accommodation not taken up. Cancellation within 48hrs of arrival (or non-arrival or curtailment of stay) will result in one night’s fees being charged against the card details provided.
c. Non-availability: We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
d. Guests are advised to insure themselves against financial loss of fees in the event of cancellation. Claridge House does not offer such insurance cover.
6. Departure:
Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10.00am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged.
7. Arrival:
Your accommodation is available to you from 3pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 9pm.
8. Provisos
a. The Management reserves the right to cancel bookings at their discretion.
b. The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to any individual without stating a reason.
c. Claridge House keeps all personal details confidential.
9. Booking.
a. The minimum age for a stay at Claridge House is 18.
c. If we accept your booking, a confirmation and receipt will be sent by email.
d. Acceptance of a booking will be at the discretion of the Management.
10. Payments
a. Full payment is taken at the time of booking.
11. Accommodation
a. Bedrooms are equipped with refreshment trays.
b. Bed linen (sheets and blankets) and towels are provided.
c. When booking, guests may request a first floor or ground floor bedroom. The first floor bedrooms are not serviced by a lift.
d. Requests for specific bedrooms will be considered at the discretion of the Management.
e. Alcohol consumption and smoking are not permitted in the House or grounds.
12. Cancellation by a Guest
a. Please inform us by telephone, email or letter if you wish to cancel a booking.
b. If notification of cancellation is received more than three weeks in advance, then any fee, less deposit will be refunded.
c. If notification is received less than three weeks in advance, the full fee is non-refundable.
d. Guests are advised to insure themselves against financial loss in the event of a cancellation. Claridge House does not office such insurance cover.
13. Costs
a. The advertised prices include overnight accommodation and breakfast.
b. No reduction can be made in respect of late arrival, early departure or absence during any part of a visit.
c. No reduction can be made in respect of meals missed during a visit.
14. Damages and Breakages
a. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge of £50 if you did not report this.
15. Liability
a. We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to yourself or your party or any vehicle or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment or contract.
b. You are responsible for any damage or loss caused to us or our property by Your act, omission, default or neglect and You agree to indemnify Us and to pay Us on demand the amount reasonably required to make good or remedy any such damage or loss.
Booking
a. The minimum age for a stay at Claridge House is 18.
b. If we are unable to take your booking, given that the accommodation is full, we will return any remittance paid, enter your name on a waiting list and inform you if a place can be offered.
c. If we accept your booking, a confirmation and receipt will be sent by email or post.
d. Acceptance of a booking will be at the discretion of the Management.
Deposits
a. A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the cost of the course per person for a course or retreat is payable at the time of booking. If a booking is made within four weeks of the date of the stay or course, the full fee is payable.
b. Deposits may vary for specific events.
Final Payment
The balance will be shown on the Confirmation/ Invoice, which must be settled in full 4 weeks in advance of the booked arrival. If payment is not received by this time, the Management reserves the right to cancel the booking.
Accommodation
a. Bedrooms are equipped with refreshment trays with teas/coffees/milks.
b. Bedlinen, duvets and towels are provided.
c. When booking, a guest may request a first floor or ground floor bedroom. The first-floor rooms are not serviced by a lift.
d. Requests for specific bedrooms will be considered at the discretion of the Management but cannot be guaranteed to be available on arrival.
e. Bedrooms will be available for occupancy by incoming guests from 3.00pm on the day of arrival.
f. Guests are requested to vacate their bedrooms by 10.00am on the day of departure unless specified otherwise.
g. It is possible to have a late check-out if your room is not required for a group/individual check in later. There is a charge of £10 per hour. Please let us know if you would like to have this added on.
h. Smoking and alcohol consumption are not permitted in the House or garden. A £100 fine will be issued if found to have smoked inside our premises. Damages: Claridge House also reserves the right to charge in addition to the room rate if the room is damaged and/or requires deep cleaning.
Costs
a. The full board advertised prices include overnight accommodation, meals and (if applicable) course fees.
b. No reduction can be made in respect of late arrival, early departure or absence during any part of a stay.
c. No reduction can be made in respect of meals missed during a stay.
d. £100 fee for lost keys
Lost property– will incur a £10 admin plus the cost of postage
Non-Participants
When a course is running, non-participants may be able to stay as residents.
Non-Residents
People who live locally may, subject to vacancies, attend a course based on tuition and meals only.

Pets

Provisos
a. It is intended that courses will be run in accordance with the advertised description, but when circumstances dictate, the Management reserves the right to change plans or alter advertised details without notice.
b. The Management reserves the right to cancel bookings at their discretion.
c. If the Management must cancel a booking, the guest will be informed as soon as practically possible. Any monies paid in respect of that booking would be refunded to the guest. The Management will not be liable for any additional cost or expense.
d. The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to any individual without stating a reason.
e. Claridge House keeps all personal details confidential.

1. Shipping and Delivery
- We use Royal Mail delivery services to ship all orders. The estimated delivery time is between 3-5 business days from the date of dispatch.
- Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight of your order and will be displayed at checkout.
2. Returns and Replacements
- If an item is damaged during transit, we will happily replace it. Please contact us with a photo of the damaged item at your earliest convenience.
- If you wish to return a product for any other reason, please contact us at Claridge House within 14 days of receiving your order.

3. Refund Policy
- Refunds will be processed using the original payment method once the returned item is received and inspected. Please allow up to 14 business days for the refund to be processed.

Claridge House has 10 bedrooms in the main house – 2 singles, 4 twins and 4 doubles. 9 rooms are ensuite, 1 double has a dedicated bathroom.
The Courtyard Rooms are self-contained and have 1 double and 1 single ‘click-clack’ sofa bed and share a bathroom. These rooms may be included in a Group Stay booking on request.
NEW – Inside Flat which comprises of 2 rooms, each with single beds and share a bathroom. These have been upgraded and comfortable, not to the same spec as the guest rooms but acceptable for course leaders to be used as overspill once the main house rooms are full.
Claridge House offers excellent vegetarian cuisine. Certain dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notice. The dietary options are Vegan, Wheat-free, Dairy-free, Gluten-free, Sugar-free and the 14 stipulated allergies as per Food Safety. Medical diets only – dislikes, preferences and fashionable fad diets cannot be catered for (if they wish, guests can bring their own special diet food to be kept in the kitchen refrigerator).
Quaker Meeting for Worship is on Sundays 9:45-10:45 am. Course leaders are welcome to incorporate this into their programme and if not, we request that this quiet time is respected.
- A Group Stay is a non-exclusive means of hiring Claridge House for use by 6 to 18 guests with course leader (including the inside staff accommodation). However, we require payment for no fewer of 8 guests inclusive of Course Leader.
- Group Stays can be arranged by Quaker Meetings, Meditation Groups, Yoga classes or any other group activity congruent with Quaker values and Claridge House’s charitable objectives of Rest and Renewal.
- Group Stays may be incorporated on our website and/or annual course programme upon request.
- A deposit will be paid to Claridge House to hold the dates, within 5 days of Claridge House and the Course Leader agreeing upon those dates. The deposit is the equivalent of the tutor’s accommodation cost for a two-night weekend Group Stay i.e. £300 per person for 2-night weekend and £450 for 3-night weekend. Longer and/or mid-week stays are welcome upon request and discounts for mid weeks are possible, in agreement with Claridge House. Costs may be further revised for 2024.
