Find space to relax at our restful retreats in our peaceful Victorian House, surrounded by the beauty of a two-acre woodland garden with majestic specimen trees. Claridge House is designed for deep rest, healing, and renewal, offering friendly service to create your haven for holistic well-being. Retreat days feature activities and nourishing vegetarian food to nurture and support your mind, body and soul. Our dining room serves comforting, home-cooked meals, baked goods and refreshments as part of your stay.

Claridge House is wheelchair friendly, ensuring accessibility for all.

A two-night minimum stay means everyone has the opportunity to experience the nurturing benefits of a deep rest. As this is Jan, be assured the house is warm but we also provide additional throws and electric over-blankets for your comfort. You control your guest room temperature and heated towel rails however we recommend you bring plenty of comfortable layers, indoor and outdoor shoes, hot water bottle to be extra cozy.

Full Board Retreat Weeks are structured for you ‘to build your own’ retreat:-  Include 1 or 2 half-day courses to try something new or to deepen the benefits of your stay, and/or choose to join some of the free activities such as Happy Cafe or  Healing sessions. All are optional – please check our website or contact the office for additional information. You can extend your stay to three or four-nights full board or add a BnB night or two – below is an example of how your week may look.

A Friend in Resident is present during Full Board Personal Retreat weeks to hold Quiet Times 2 times daily from 9:45-10am and 4:45-5pm. The Quiet Times nicely bookend the day in gentle contemplation in the Quiet Room, sitting in a circle around a lit candle – entirely optional. Friends in Residents help to set the ambience of the retreat and an available ‘listening ear’.

More than anything this is your time to do with as you wish. There is no pressure to be social – we have a quiet table for anyone to use or request a tray from our staff, and all activities/Quiet Times are optional. We have a library with healing and spiritual books, provide a variety of art supplies, puzzles, novels etc., for you to dive into. Many bring writing/craft projects to focus on, especially in the deep winter. Tap into your creative self and see what emerges when you allow yourself time and space to just BE!

Check in time for our retreats is 3pm and check out is after lunch at 2pm Mon-Thurs, or after breakfast by 10am on Friday.

4:45-5pm   Quiet Time (optional)

6:30            Dinner – 2-course with main and pudding

Tuesday

8:30-9:30  Breakfast Buffet – substantial continental with toast/cereals/pastries/fruit/yoghurt/boiled egg/overnight oats

9:45-10am Quiet Time (optional)

10am-1pm  1/2 day course – Tansy in the Wild’s QiGong and Forest Bathing* 

11am           Coffee and biscuits in dining room – informal

1pm            Lunch – usually 2 courses i.e. soup with a tart and salads

2-4pm       Down time – read, write, paint, wander in the garden, schedule a massage, go for longer walk

4pm           Tea and Cake in the Front Room

4:45-5pm  Quiet Time in Quiet Room

6:30pm     Dinner

8:30-9:30  Breakfast

9:45-10am Quiet Time

10-1pm       1/2 day Yoga morning with Mel Davies* 

OR join Happy Cafe 11-12:30pm OR Community Hub 10-12
