1st-4th October 2026 – Inner Quiet Yoga & Meditation Retreat with Sam Ra
The Inner Quiet retreat is designed to prepare ourselves for meditation by relaxing the body, releasing our tension and quietening the chatter of our minds. Sam will lead 3 classes a day based around the ideas of the three Gunas.
– Sattva in the morning for intelligent balance and stability, including a meditation practice.
– Rajas in the afternoon, full of movement and energy.
– Tamas for the evening, inducing deep in-action with breath work and guided relaxation.
About Sam Ra:
I trained at the Sivananda Yoga and Vedanta Ashram, Kerala, India in 2003.
In 2006 I travelled to Boulder, Colorado to complete an Ashtanga Vinyasa Teachers’ Intensive with Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor at the Yoga Workshop. I have been teaching yoga in London, California and on retreat for 23 years. For several years I had regular classes at The Life Centre, Notting Hill and Islington. I specialise working with individuals and small groups. I have also taught at Goldman Sachs, Deutche Bank and for Disney.
My classes emphasise attentive alignment, accessible sequencing and a calm, patient approach.
Retreat Outline:
A gentle, deep, yoga exploration for the curious. Suitable for all levels including complete beginner. Taught by Sam Ra (FKA: Sam Cunningham/Yoga Punk). During this 4-day retreat you will be guided in how to practice postures safely, breathe well and focus your mind. Please bring a notebook for journaling, and readings or poems to share.
