Friends in Residence are Quakers who offer their skills and life experience to the guests staying at Claridge House. They support the Quaker ambience of the House, and uphold our core purpose and values. They have a have a heartfelt sense of quietly being alongside guests. They bring a sense of calm, peace and stillness to create an atmosphere in which guests can relax and feel comfortable.

Friends in Residence are able to build a trusting space for those guests seeking a caring space in which to be held. They provide a listening ear to those in need, carefully listening with warmth and a compassionate stillness which exemplifies the love and care which Claridge House offers and for which it is renowned. They do not offer counselling.

The Friend if Residence facilitates two daily Quiet Times, within House and supports to the staff in their care of the guests.
